Pooling Efforts for a New Silk Road Platform and Forging a Shared Future with Five Continents
—Promotion Conference on Economic and Trade Cooperation Between China (Guangxi) and BRI Partner Countries to Be Held as a Supporting Event of the 23rd China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit
In this golden autumn, Guangxi welcomes guests from near and far to jointly chart a new course for development along the Silk Road. As high-quality Belt and Road cooperation continues to advance in depth and substance, and as China-ASEAN cooperation keeps upgrading in quality and efficiency, the Promotion Conference on Economic and Trade Cooperation Between China (Guangxi) and BRI Partner Countries, an important supporting event of the 23rd China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit CABIS, will be convened on September 18, 2026 in Nanning, Guangxi. First launched in 2024, the event has been held successfully for two consecutive years, expanding the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit service scope from China and 10 ASEAN member states to the broader community of BRI partner countries. It has become an important bridge for Guangxi to embrace the world and to support enterprises in going global and bringing in foreign investment.
Hosted by the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, this year’s Promotion Conference is grounded in the new development stage and closely follows the overall plan of the Summit. Under the theme of “Building a New Belt and Road Platform and Creating a Shared Future of Cooperation across Five Continents,” it will bring together some 120 participants from five continents, including diplomatic officials from embassies and consulates in China, heads of chambers of commerce and business associations, experts, scholars, and representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises. The agenda is designed to be compact and efficient, featuring addresses by leaders, remarks by guests, a plaque-awarding ceremony, the release of outcomes, targeted promotion sessions, a tea break and networking session, and country-specific matchmaking sessions. The event aims to build a comprehensive, full-chain cooperation system featuring high-level guidance, policy alignment, industrial synergy, and enterprise project implementation.
The highlights of the event are as the following :
First, Extensive Participation. In terms of guest invitations, the event achieves full coverage of five continents, multiple sectors, and high-level representatives, embodying the vision of “Collaboration across Five Continents and Common Progress across Silk Road Countries.” Officials from embassies and consulates of BRI partner countries will convene to discuss cooperation opportunities and development strategies. Representatives of chambers of commerce and business associations from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, as well as representatives from Pinglu Canal Group Co., Ltd. and Fangchenggang International Medical Opening‑up Pilot Zone, will deliver promotional speeches.
Second, Diverse Outcomes. The CABIS secretariat actively expands institutionalized cooperation with chambers of commerce and business associations in Europe, East Asia, and other regions. Inter‑institutional Memoranda of Understanding will be signed, and plaques for the Belt and Road Supporting Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations of the CABIS will be awarded, further expanding Guangxi’s international circle of friends. Meanwhile, The Service Handbook for Guangxi Enterprises Going Global will be released to provide one‑stop integrated services, including policy interpretation, risk prevention, practical guidelines, and business opportunity navigation, for Guangxi enterprises going global, empowering enterprises’ international development with tangible outcomes.
Third, Targeted and Pragmatic Matchmaking. The event features five dedicated matchmaking zones for one‑on‑one targeted dialogues categorized by continent and country. The five zones include: Europe Zone (Italy, Greece); Asia Zone (Dubai, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Republic of Korea); Americas Zone (Chile); Oceania Zone (New Zealand); Africa Zone (Nigeria, Zambia). Key industrial parks and leading enterprises from cities across Guangxi will hold face‑to‑face and one‑on‑one talks with overseas guests. In‑depth consultations will be conducted, covering trade, investment cooperation, production capacity cooperation, technical exchanges, and international branding, to effectively achieve the goal of “driving talks through the conference, fostering cooperation through talks, and delivering win‑win results through cooperation.”
Fourth, Product Exhibition. A dedicated “Silk Road Specialties · Guangxi Products Going Global” specialty product display area will be established outside the venue, showcasing premium specialty products from Guangxi and distinctive goods from the BRI partner countries. The Guangxi exhibition section features select local brand products, including Baise black tea, Zhuang ethnic huangjiu, Liuzhou Luosifen, Qinzhou Nixing pottery, Liubao tea, sea duck eggs, Zhuang ethnic brocade (intangible cultural heritage), and specialty craft ceramics. The international exhibition section presents Silk Road specialties, including Chilean wine, featured products from the United Arab Emirates, Greek specialty foods, Korean beauty and cultural & creative products, featured products from Argentina, and New Zealand dairy products. With products serving as a bond, culture as a bridge, and trade as the goal, this display area will provide Chinese and international guests with an intuitive experience of the industrial charm of Guangxi and distinctive global resources. It aims to promote the conference through products, facilitate business through exhibitions, and build connections through trade, thereby advancing economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in a mutually reinforcing manner.
